Important collective edition, partly original, of the Works of Diderot, composed of 6 parts and a supplement (in 6 volumes), with in the latter several unpublished texts: Voyage de Hollande, Salon of 1761, 5 Last Letters from the Salon of 1769, 3 Dialogues, My Father and Me, Political Fragments and On Studies in Russia.

Very complete in fine of the first volume, 2 large folding plates, including one of geometric figures; and at the beginning of the second volume, an equally fold-out plate entitled "Figure System of Human Knowledge".

Set nicely established in a binding signed Lebrun executed in glazed half-calf (contemporary binding). Back with large raised bands adorned with blind fillets on the nerves and decorative golden wheels on the raised bands. Title and volume number in smoked compartments. Name of cold binding at the tail of the first volume.

Condition: second bite of volume 1 split (flat almost flying), trace of wetting along the spine. The other bindings are in good condition with slight rubbing to the crowns. Interiors a bit yellowed, variable foxing.
