UB40 - Signing Off

UB40 are an English reggae and pop band formed in Birmingham, England in December 1978. The band have had more than 50 singles on the UK Singles Chart and have also enjoyed considerable international success.
They were nominated four times for a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album and for a Brit Award for Best British Group in 1984.
UB40 have sold over 70 million records worldwide.

Her hit singles include her debut "Food for Thought" and two Billboard Hot 100 number ones with "Red Red Wine" and "Can't Help Falling in Love." Both also topped the UK Singles Chart, as did the band's version of "I Got You Babe". Their two most successful albums, Labor of Love (1983) and Promises and Lies (1993), reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. UB40 and English ska band Madness each hold the record for most weeks spent by a group in the UK Singles Chart in the 1980s at 214 weeks.

-Signing Off is the debut album by British reggae band UB40, released on August 29, 1980 in the UK by Dudley-based independent label Graduate Records.
It was an instant hit in their home country, peaking at number 2 in the UK Albums Chart and establishing UB40 as one of the many popular reggae bands in the UK several years before the band achieved international fame. The politically engaged lyrics struck a chord in a country with widespread public dissent over high unemployment, the policies of Margaret Thatcher's recently elected Conservative party and the rise of the racist National Front party, while the record's dub-influenced rhythms reflected that of Der Influence of late 1970s West Indian music on British popular music introduced by post-WWII Caribbean immigrants, particularly reggae and ska - this was embodied by the 2 Tone movement that gave rise to this

Still considered UB40's best album by many fans and music critics
