Special test or test strike on a 2 euro roundel, with the edge lettering 2 ★ ★ repeated six times, alternately upright and upside down.
These were minted in Germany in 2015 on behalf of the Royal Dutch Mint by a coin press (machine) supplier. The roundels are used to adjust a press for a bi-color coin. This press was purchased by the KNM and a performance bonus was attached to it. They didn't get that performance bonus because the coin press kept jamming during testing.
There are two boxes with roundels and the relevant stamps supplied by the KNM and these were all used for this purpose, after the return delivery from Germany, almost all copies were destroyed. As far as we know, 3 copies survived the melting furnace.
Given the edge lettering, it can only be 2 euro coin blanks from the following countries;
Belgium, France, Ireland, Monaco or Luxembourg, since the latter also outsources its coins to the KNM, we strongly assume that these are Luxembourg roundels.
