This year we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of the painter!
Original lithograph entitled "Football European Championship" by Guillaume Corneille (1922-2010) painter born in Liège of Dutch parents and founding member of the Cobra group (with Asger Jorn, Karel Appel, Christian Dotremont, Constant, Alechinsky and Jacques Doucet among others ), with fine gold gilding applied to the ball.
Guillaume Corneille like other Modern Art painters represented sport in his art. Like Nicolas de Staël and Robert Delaunay whom he greatly admired, Guillaume Corneille produced several works on footballers and boxers.
24 carat gold leaf applied to the ball. Atelier Corneille stamp on the back
Paper pushed back at the level of the balloon to give relief.
