Thomas van Apshoven (1622-1664) - Paesaggio con viandanti

Thomas van Apshoven (1622–1664/7) was a Flemish painter, a pupil of David Teniers the Younger (1610-1690), whose artistic qualities and subjects he shared to the point that some works by Van Apshoven have been attributed to Teniers. Both are considered among the most important artists of the Flemish seventeenth century and this painting is also a testimony of the cultural "heritage" of that period.
Van Apshoven's scenes mostly portray countryside landscapes, village scenes, tavern interiors, which the artist often sets in uncrowded compositions.
This beautiful painting "Landscape with figures" set in a Dutch countryside, is an oil on canvas measuring 54x75 cm, with the frame measuring 64x85 cm.
The painting has been relined, there are some very slight signs of aging on the frame.
The work is certified by the presence in the auction catalog of one of the most important and authoritative Italian auction houses.
Accurate packaging and fast shipping are guaranteed, pick up by hand is welcome, the work is located in Milan.
