Extremely rare Ghibli Primatist, a special series produced by Maserati to celebrate the speed record on water of the Abbate Primatist motorboat achieved with the Ghibli V6 2000 engine. It is the rarest version of the Ghibli II and is practically impossible to find for sale on the global market, only 35 were produced using the bodies and mechanics of the latest Ghibli GTs with ZF differential.
This Primatist up for auction is original throughout with known and certified history.
It was exhibited at the international Geneva show and was sold new in Switzerland in June 1997 where it remained until 2008, always maintained by the same workshop; in 2009 it was purchased by an Italian collector who continued regular maintenance first by the Sauro workshop in Bologna and then by the Campana brothers in Milan, both Maserati specialists.
The bodywork was repainted years ago in the original colour and is in splendid condition with no defects to report, original underbody with no trace of rust, specific original Speedline rims fitted as standard on the Cup version and only on request on the Primatist.
The interior is preserved, just cleaned and sanitised, the leather of the seats is excellent and original, it has never been painted, only treated with specific products.
Mechanically it has no work to do, last service done by specialists 2,000 km ago including timing belt with invoice for all work done. It has a sports exhaust and the original catalyst has been taken out.
Supplied with all the original booklets, service booklet filled out, key kit, original equipment radio and CD changer, customised blue car cover with Primatist lettering and Maserati emblem.
