Department by department, this famous series (complete in five volumes, without the atlas) presents the French departments, with the colonies, Alsace and Lorraine in the last volume, despite its annexation by the German Empire since. We will also find in the last volume, a complete Dictionary of the communes of France.

Beautiful copy set in a well-made binding in contemporary brown half-shagreen, title, author and volume number gilded on the spines. Leather on the back, slight rubbing. Solid volumes. Interiors in good fresh condition, rare and light foxing.
