New edition with mention of 3rd review corrected and greatly increased by the author of this course in theoretical and practical medicine, entitled "Les Diverses Leçons" by Louis Guyon (around 1527-1617) doctor and polygrapher, adviser to the King of France, first appeared in 1603.
Edition divided into five books and contains a beautiful frontispiece engraved in red and black repeated in each volume.
These lessons contain various notions relating to natural history, etymology—that of the word “Burgundy”, for example—, witchcraft and legends and fables6. A real success at the time, they were reissued seven times until 16787. He was strongly criticized by some of his contemporaries who called him an "inventor of scandals" because of all the little stories he could add in his stories.

Three volumes bound in soft vellum, title handwritten in brown ink on the spine (contemporary binding).
Condition: Solid bindings, faded leather with traces on the spine. Fresh interior, yellowed paper. In volume 1 holes (worm work) in the foot margin, more pronounced on pp 865-936; without affecting the text. In volume 3 a barely perceptible marginal wetting on a few sheets at the beginning.
