Roman antique glass oenochoe with ribbed relief decoration, circa 2nd century CE, titled OENOCHOE ROMAINE EN VERRE and in good condition.
Description from the seller
Roman glass oenochoe
Roman jug with a handle, made of yellow-green glass decorated with raised ribs. The body is cylindrical, adorned in relief with fine vertical ribs.
A vertical loop folded at the top connects the shoulder to the lip.
This jug was probably part of a dinner service.
Beautiful iridescence. The glass is partially covered with an iridescent layer, formed as a result of oxidation caused by the centuries.
Roman era, 2nd / 3rd centuries AD
Dimensions: height 9.1 cm x width 5.3 cm.
This jug is in excellent condition and has not undergone any restoration.
Examined by Antoine Tarantino, a renowned archaeology expert and member of the European Chamber of Art Experts
Origin: France, B.S.T gallery.
