Nina Hagen's 'Jeans for Refugees'

Nina Hagen: "I am passionate about helping people who flee from war and terror.
My grandfather Herman Hagen was not able to escape from Hitler-Germany and was murdered in a German concentration camp.
Many of my compatriots in the GDR had to pay a "republic escape" with their lifes. Also I, as a young woman, fled from my birth-country .
My heart is dancing, when I see people helping people ."

Each pair of jeans has been embellished using a special 3D paint, making these sought after art pieces wonderfully wearable. Johny Dar’s intricate, hand-painted artworks seek to reflect the individual personality of each donor, by paying tribute to their unique characters through artistic expression.

The ‘Jeans for Refugees’ project is a global artistic collaboration with over 100 celebrities and the brainchild of iconic fashion designer and artist Johny Dar. The concept behind Jeans for Refugees is to spread a message through art, to create positive change and empower people to collaborate for a common goal. The intention is to raise millions for the International Rescue Committee. Photo credit
