Anna Dart - Crystal-Clear
Anna Dart, the honorable Prize Winner in the 2022 International Contest for High Technology in Art in the USA, has been devoted to the art since a young age. Whether using watercolors, acrylics, or cutting-edge tech, her work is renowned for its magnetic power, elegance, and emotional depth.
Having lived in Spain, Switzerland, and France, Anna has drawn profound inspiration from the exploration of contemporary realities since 2012. Her art reflects on the very essence of what it means to be human in a cyber and transhuman society, expressed through her minimalistic abstract works with erotic potential and the integration of machine learning and blockchain.
Anna’s early work has been featured in prestigious galleries, including Victor Lope Gallery (2013), Hartmann Gallery (2013), and the Arts Santa Mónica Centre (2016) in Barcelona, as well as Art Cologne (Europe’s oldest art fair) in Germany (2013, 2014, 2016). In 2022, Anna became the first artist to showcase the generative work at an outdoor exhibition in Brussels. She also exhibited her machine learning-based arts at La Gaîté Lyrique in France, marking a milestone solo show in Paris with Artpoint.
Over the last two years, her art has spread globally, gracing venues in Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, France, Italy, Romania, Denmark, Germany, Canada, the USA, South Korea, China, and Japan, including the billboards of Tokyo's Shibuya Crossing. Her work has been displayed at iconic venues such as Seattle Art Museum, Times Square, Art Basel Miami, as well as on the giant 30-foot monolith screen in Seoul, South Korea. Anna Dart has also collaborated with the influential digital fashion house The Fabricant in the Netherlands, using her traditional paintings to create digital fabrics for Metaverse dresses.
Nominated as the "Best Traditional Artist Using Blockchain Technology" alongside Trevor Jones and Takashi Murakami in 2021 in New York, Anna went on to win the prestigious Art Contest in the USA in 2022, which required the use of generated networks (#ClaireAIContest). Anna Dart trained Artificial Intelligence using her traditional paintings, showcasing exceptional skill that earned her the Grant and a special jury mention, praising her piece as 'high quality work that moves.'
Beyond painting, Anna has actively pursued the cross-pollination of visual and performing arts, creating site-specific collaborative exhibitions and performances. Her innovative approach introduces a third dimension to visual art by incorporating voice, movement, and technology. She has honed her performing arts skills at established institutions, including the Nancy Tuñón & Jordi Oliver Academy (Spain). Anna has also had an opportunity to do the training with the renowned Hofesh Shechter Dance Company (UK) and collaborated with Pau Aran of the famous Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch (Germany).
In addition to her artistic achievements, Anna Dart has made her mark as a curator. In 2021, she was invited by UN Habitat to organize a digital art exhibition at COP26, and in 2022, curated a show at the Picasso Museum during the Big Draw Festival with the Exquisite Workers collective. As a curator, she organized the iconic global exhibition, featuring 100 artists who utilize generative media in their work, including Jenni Pasanen, Roope Rainisto, and Roger Haus. The show remains the world’s largest and was held in collaboration with Superchief Gallery in NYC at the Oculus, World Trade Center in 2023.
Anna Dart continues to redefine the intersection of art and technology, establishing herself as a true visionary in the contemporary art world. Her motto, "Art with life, life without them," reflects her constant spirit of experimentation.
