1902 Bodegas Miguel Llorens, 'Rancio' Priorato - Priorat - 1 Bottle (0.75L)

Wine recently bought from a private cellar. Bottle stored in private cellar up to today. Excellent storage conditions. Extremely rare 123 years-old "Rancio" wine from the disappeared winery Miguel Llorens in Priorat wine region. Currently, the vineyard doesn't exist. Just a few dozen bottles of this "Rancio Priorato" (Dry Rancio Wine) were bottled and served only on special occasions to a winemaker’s family and friends. A very rare 19th-century bottle. Very good filling level. No leakage. Check-out pictures. Not much information about the wine is available. The wine was entirely vinified from vintage 1902 and bottled in mid-'40s. Harvested from passerillé old-vine grapes, fermented with native yeasts, taking years to complete fermentation. Left outside in glass demijohns and very old barrels for years, subjecting them to a kind of “thermal shock” before being moved inside to age in stores that boast only passive temperature control. The barrels were not “topped-up” and no sulfur was added, occasionally allowing the rare barrel to develop flor. The wine concentrated by evaporation and levels of acidity and alcohol initially dipped and then slowly raised, enabling the wine to resist spoilage as it gradually oxidizes. *** All international parcels are shipped with the highest standards of quality: through the premium “UPS International Express”, the fastest service against signature provided by the courier. Packed in a special wine box officially certified by UPS and DHL. Bottles are packed individually, one by one, and wrapped in a 3 layers bubble wrap. Due to the nature of the wine and the value of the products all lots are shipped with insurance coverage. ***
