2020 Jean-Hugues Gros Wines, Odisseia Tinto - Douro DOC, Reserva - 6 Bottles (0.75L)

2020 Odisseia Reserva Red 6 x 0.75L 6 Bottles Douro Region DESCRIPTION It was in 2004 that the first Odisseia wines were produced. But Jean-Hugues Gros had already been working in the Douro since 1999. After completing the Enology course and several internships in Burgundy in 1992, Jean-Hugues Gros had the unique opportunity to spend 16 months at Sandeman, in Porto. And that was how he began his discovery of Port and Douro wines. Today, Jean-Hugues Gros is a producer and also a winemaking consultant for several Douro houses, such as Quinta da Casa Amarela, Scylla, Quinta do Cume, Dona Francisca and Quinta do Espinho. WINEMAKER: Jean-Hugues Gros. AWARDS/RECOMMENDATIONS 90-91 Points, Vert de Vin Gold Medal, Mundus Vini 91 Points, Vinum Magazine (2019 Vintage) 90 Points, Robert Parker (2019 Vintage) 93 Points, Decanter World Wine Awards (2017 Vintage) 17 Points, Revista de Vinhos (2015 Vintage) Gold Medal, Mundus Vini (2015 Vintage) 17 Points, Vinho Grandes Escolhas (2015 Vintage) WINE VARIETIES: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional & Tinta Roriz. VINIFICATION The best grapes are picked in the vineyard and separately transformed in stainless steel vat with controlled temperature at 25°C. Half of the batch is aged in French oak barrels for 9 months. TASTING NOTES It is a wine characterised by its elegance, fruity quality and a well balanced wood that does not hide the fruitiness. Concentrated, with ripe tannins, it is potentially a vin de garde in spite of the great pleasure derived from its consumption in the first years after bottling. SERVING Pair with red meats, codfish, cheese and game meat. Store in a cool and dry place, sheltered from light and temperature fluctuations. Keep the bottle in a horizontal position. Best served at a temperature between 16-18ºC. PLEASE NOTE: This is a recurring auction. The seal number(s) you see on the photos might differ from the one(s) on your bottle(s).
