With Fronsac, the name Canon-Fronsac forms the Fronsadais, an important part of the Libournais. On soils close to those of Saint-Emilion, consisting of limestone asterries and Fronsadais molasses, Canon-Fronsac produces 13,000 hl of red wines per year. The wines of Canon-Fronsac are made from Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The conjugation of these different elements gives quite delicate wines that retain a firm tannic structure. The wines of the AOC Canon-Fronsac are distinguished by their aromas of red berries and spices, which over time transform into flavours of truffles.
