biography
Ukrainian Soviet painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Master of easel painting. Born on March 6, 1910, in Kharkov. In 1934, he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute (1939). His teacher was F. Krichevsky. Member of the Great Patriotic War. Konstantin Alekseevich mainly worked in the fields of landscape, still life, and genre composition. He admired the splendor of the surrounding world and understood the beauty that appeared to him. His paintings depict Ukrainian landscapes: flowering gardens, snowy woods, vast plains, and sea shores. His painting is characterized by broad, picturesque brushwork, emotional tension of color, and lyricism. The artist's creativity is based on closeness to nature, admiration for it, and joy of living. The uniqueness of his works is visible to the naked eye: contrasting transitions and bright, pure colors are used in his paintings. He participated in exhibitions: republican from 1947, pan-Soviet from 1939. He lived and worked in Kiev. He participated in the Second World War, received honors and medals. His paintings are part of numerous public and private collections in Ukraine and abroad and enjoy well-deserved and consistent demand.
