Rare ceramic sculpture of Mary with the Child Jesus, designed and signed by Alfons Noseda. The composition shows Mary tenderly embracing the Child under a wide, protective mantle that folds around both of them like a flowing veil. Jesus holds an imperial apple – a symbol of his divine kingship over the world.

The piece is executed in glossy, craquelure-glazed pottery with iridescent color variations in deep blue, green, and brown. The powerful design and subdued expression give the work a modern, spiritual appearance, characteristic of Noseda’s oeuvre.

Height 50 cm. In good condition with some small glaze chips and light signs of use.
