Netherlands - Belgie; Gerard Mercator/ Jodocus Hondius - The Dutch/Belgian part of " Atlas, ou représentation du monde universel" from 1633 - 1621-1650

This concerns the title page, 4 text pages and 26 maps in copper engraving of the Dutch/Belgian part of the "Atlas, ou représentation du monde universel" by Gerard Mercator and Jodocus Hondius from 1633, where the map of Limburg has been replaced by the map of Zeeland. Reference: Koeman 36a. The cards are bound in an original period binding adapted for this purpose. The binding and book block have some restorations in some places. Book block cannot be called "tight". The quality of the cards is good to moderate, some cards are browned and with stains, some places have been reinforced with paper or restoration tape. It should also be mentioned that in earlier times a shot with buckshot was fired at the cards (not the tape). As a result, approximately 10 cards have holes (see photos) and most of the others have been somewhat restored in the relevant places. This book is sold "as is", with all its flaws! All magazines have therefore been photographed, please look at them carefully for a good impression. Attention for US buyers: Due to recent postal restrictions shipping to the US can only be done by DHL, therefor higher shipping costs apply!
