San Román 2003 is a highly limited edition —fewer than 2,000 bottles— crafted by Mariano García (former winemaker at Vega Sicilia) under his Maurodos winery in the D.O. Toro. Sourced from old-vine Tinta de Toro planted in sandy and stony soils, this wine embodies the estate’s signature style: ripe black fruit, cocoa, leather, and licorice notes, with polished tannins and a long, balsamic finish. With 14.5% ABV and over two decades of bottle aging, it is now at its peak maturity, showing remarkable balance, depth, and elegance. The bottle is in excellent condition, stored in a temperature-controlled cellar —a collector’s gem and a superb example of Toro’s enduring greatness.
