This Laphroaig 33 Years Old Strong Characters Chapter One Donald Johnston is the first and very limited release in a new series that celebrates the key figures in Laphroaigs' vivid past and presence. Strong Characters Chapter One tells the story of Donald Johnston, the older of two brothers who founded the Laphroaig distillery back in 1815. Aged for over three decades in American oak ex-Bourbon casks and European oak sherry-seasoned hogsheads, it reveals complex layers of peat smoke, dried fruit, cured meat, and a subtle maritime character. Box and bottle have been illustraded by award-winning British artist Bill Bragg.
