Description from the seller

Eugène Delacroix writes to his student and friend Maurice Dudevant-Sand (1823-1889), son of the novelist: "I cannot leave with your good mother [George Sand], too many reasons keep me here. So, it will be for a little later. I am dining tomorrow at Mme Marliani's [Charlotte de Folleville, a close friend of George Sand and Delacroix], and I will explain all this to her. I send you my love. Eug. Delacroix".
1/2 page. Brown ink on a double sheet. Address on the back of the second sheet with postal marks. Dated 'This Wednesday' [May 17, 1843 (postal stamps)]
