Danny Trejo (born May 16, 1944) is an American actor. He has appeared in films including Desperado, Heat, and the From Dusk Till Dawn film series. With frequent collaborator and his second cousin Robert Rodriguez
He also starred in a full theatrical release of the film Machete, in 2010, based on the character Isador "Machete" Cortez and again in 2013 for the sequel film, Machete Kills.

Michelle Rodríguez (born July 12, 1978) is an American actress. She began her career in 2000, playing a troubled boxer in the independent sports drama film Girlfight (2000), where she won the Independent Spirit Award and Gotham Award for Best Debut Performance. Rodriguez played Letty Ortiz in the Fast & Furious franchise (2001, 2009–present) and Rain Ocampo in the Resident Evil franchise (2002, 2012). She has starred in the crime thriller S.W.A.T. (2003), James Cameron's science fiction epic Avatar (2009), and in the action film Battle: Los Angeles (2011).

Isador Cortez, also known as Machete, is the main protagonist in the Machete film series. He is a former Mexican Federal, who owns a shop that sells spy gadgets. His weapon of choice is the machete, although he can handle firearms perfectly fine. Cortez is fluent in both Spanish and English. On his chest is a tattoo depicting a female. Machete is related by blood to Juni Cortez and Carmen Cortez, being their uncle. Trejo has described Machete as a "badass", and said that his mother had started calling him "Machete".
