Val Saint Lambert - Charles Graffart & René Delvenne - Vase - Glass - "DICK" LUXVAL - ART-DECO

This impressive vase with the name "DICK" was designed by Charles Graffart and René Delvenne around 1935, and made in the Art-Deco period by Val Saint Lambert in Belgium. This rare vase with a delicate Amethyst colour, has an eight-faceted body with a decorative scalloped edge design around the top. The top and base of the vase are octagonal. A stamped signature can be seen on the inside base of the vase "Val St. Lambert" - "BELGIQUE" (see photo). In the 1930's Val Saint Lambert produced a machine-made product-line with the name 'LUXVAL", made of pressed decorative Art Deco glass, but designed by top designers such as Charles Graffart and René Delvenne. The low-priced Luxval series appeared next to the collections of fine and expensive hand-made crystal products. The Luxval range of products sometimes have imperfections, such as small air bubbles, but these characteristics are today a sign of authenticity. It is not unusual to find small imperfections on hand-made Art Deco glassware. Luxvall products have today become much sought-after collectors pieces. The "Dick" model is rare to find! The condition is near MINT with only slight scratching on the base due to movement. A great addition to a glass and/or Luxval collection. Careful packaging will ensure a safe delivery. See my feedback on Catawiki.
