The Sheaffer Lifetime Flat Top Lady/Petite pairs green jade marbled celluloid with an amber body and a pristine 14K nib, delivering a solid mid‑century fountain pen in superb working order.
Description from the seller
This Sheaffer Lifetime Flat Top fountain pen in Lady/Petite size is presented in an outstanding condition for a piece manufactured between the late 1920s and early 1930s. Its combination of jade marble celluloid on the cap and amber/caramel on the body offers a highly attractive aesthetic that is rare to find in specimens from this period.
The cap maintains a perfectly defined flat shape, with no deformations or cracks. The celluloid retains a deep shine, with a lively and uniform marbled pattern. The golden clip, engraved with the Sheaffer’s brand, is secure, without looseness, and with well-preserved plating, showing only superficial wear consistent with its age. The golden ring of the cap remains clean and properly seated, with no signs of corrosion or detachment.
The body in amber celluloid, one of Sheaffer's most delicate materials, is in an exceptional condition: it shows no cracks, fissures, or contractions, only minor micro-scratches typical of its use and age. The color retains good depth and transparency, with the characteristic pearled marbling clearly visible. The flat cap retains its original gold disc, a detail that often gets lost over time and here remains in very good condition.
The 14K gold Lifetime nib is in excellent visual condition. Its engraving is sharp and deep, and the hawks are properly aligned, with no deformations or signs of abnormal wear. The ebonite feed is also well preserved, with no cracks or alterations, ensuring an adequate ink flow.
The Vacuum-Fil / Plunger-Fill charging system, specific to these models without a lever, retains all its visible components in good condition. No cracks are observed in the culote nor any looseness, and the upper seal appears intact, indicating that the pen has been properly cared for throughout its lifespan.
Overall, this Sheaffer Lifetime Flat Top Lady/Petite is an exceptionally well-preserved, original, and highly collectible piece, featuring a rare color combination and an excellent writing nib. Its structural condition, well-maintained gold accents, and vibrant celluloid make it a standout item for both collectors and for premium sale.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
