Monumental impressionistic view of famous Faraglioni Rocks oof Capri island was executed by well renowed Hungarian landscape and seascape painter Jeno (Eugen) Karpathy (1871 Debrecen - 1950 Budapest). Pupil of B.Szekely at the Budapest Art Academy, continued his study in Paris and Brussels, lived 23 years in Belgium, since 1916 in Budapest again, where he exhibited landscapes and cityscapes until 1924 and in Debrecen until 1940. Literature : in German: Thieme/Becker "Lexicon of artists from antique to contemporary", Leipzig, 1999; in Hungarian: Dr.Szabo-Kalai " Lexicon of nungarian Artists", Budapest, 1997. Inscription: signed lower left. Technique: oil on canvas. Original period frame. Measurements: unframed w 51 1/2" x h 31 1/2" (131 x 80 cm), framed w 59 1/2" x h 39 1/3" (151 x 100 cm). Condition: in very good condition. Shipping: due to the oversize only by shipping firm or road courier.
