Splendid Russian Orthodox icon in cast bronze, decorated with polychrome enamels in shades of green and blue. It depicts the Madonna with Child, one of the most beloved images of the Russian tradition, similar to the model of the 'Madonna of Kazan'.
The frame is finely enameled, and at the top, there is an enameled crown with multiple points, a typical element of 19th-century domestic devotion icons. The reliefs are detailed and well-preserved, with a homogeneous and very pleasing antique patina.
