Russian Orthodox Icon in Enamelled Bronze – Ascension of Christ – 19th-20th century
Dimensions: 10 × 9 cm
Material: cast bronze with polychrome enamels (blue and green).
Beautiful Russian Orthodox icon in enameled bronze from the 19th century, depicting the Ascension of Christ. The central scene shows the Virgin and the Apostles arranged around the Mount of Olives, while at the top, Christ appears within a celestial mandorla supported by angels.
The frame is decorated with green and blue enamels, well-preserved and luminous, typical of Russian workshops of the period. The reliefs are deep and detailed, with a very fine iconographic rendering.
Authentic patina, no damage, and nearly complete original enamels. An ideal piece for collectors of 19th-century enameled bronze icons.

Beautiful Russian Orthodox bronze icon from the 19th century, depicting the Ascension of Christ. The upper part shows Christ in a mandorla carried by angels, while the Virgin and Apostles stand below in the traditional composition.
The frame is richly decorated with blue and green enamel, still well preserved and vibrant. The reliefs are sharp and detailed; the patina is original and uniform.
