Kalamity is a red wine made in the D.O.C La Rioja by Oxer Bastegieta in Laguardia, Alava.
Oxer Bastegieta is a vigneron that began making Txakoli in the family winery in Kortezubi, a small Vizcaya town that is near the Urdaibai natural park. He moved to Rioja to study a master's degree in viticulture and enology and fell in love with the landscapes of Rioja Alavesa. He established his residence in Laguardia in 2009 and began inspecting the area's vineyards to begin making wines in the area.
Kalamity is the culmination of Oxer's project in the area, a very old vineyard of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Viura cultivated following the precepts of biodynamic agriculture. Fermented and aged in French oak barrels, this red wine is pure craftsmanship. Only 900 bottles. #MostWanted2025WINE
