Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Finely crafted late nineteenth century gilded bronze seal with polychrome champlevé enamels and a refined Art Nouveau monogrammed A, in excellent condition for collectors.
Description from the seller
Superb wax seal in gilded bronze, entirely decorated with rich champlevé polychrome enameling.
The decor, typical of refined productions from the late 19th century, alternates deep royal blue backgrounds, gilded scrolls, and stylized flowers with enamel in red, white, turquoise, and green.
The handle, curved and faceted, displays very meticulous craftsmanship: each face is decorated with a different floral pattern, highlighted by finely engraved gold reserves. The overall design is harmonious, dense, and perfectly controlled.
The matrix bears an elegant 'A' monogram engraved in Art Nouveau style.
The seal is entirely original: gilding, enamels, and matrix. No visible restoration. Minimal wear consistent with age.
Period: late 19th century (around 1880–1900)
Dimensions: Height: 6 cm - Matrix diameter: about 1.5 cm.
Condition: excellent; intact gilding, well-preserved enamels, minimal signs of use.
Remarque
Authentic collectible item, of very high quality, representative of luxury seals produced in France at the end of the 19th century.
Provenance: Private collection.
