Description from the seller
Antique samovar in Sheffield Plate with burner – Late 19th century
Imposing samovar in Sheffield plate of fine craftsmanship, complete with its base and burner. The body features a fluted structure with vertical grooves, enriched by embossed decorative applications depicting leaves, tendrils, and small bunches of grapes, all executed with remarkable attention to detail. The spout, elegantly carved, displays foliate motifs consistent with the botanical aesthetic of the entire piece.
A highly valuable element is the pair of perforated side supports that hold the wide upper handle, characterized by a wavy design with finely chased ornamental inserts. The lid features petal work and a central decorative knob. The base, also richly perforated and crafted with naturalistic motifs, is supported by four shaped feet adorned with large leaves.
The burner, finely crafted, is decorated with two facing deer figures with carved heads and gilded inserts, giving the piece a theatrical and highly ornamental appearance. On the back, there is a stamped mark with symbols and numbering, typical of Sheffield plate productions active between the late 19th century and the early 20th century.
Object of remarkable visual presence and excellent craftsmanship quality, ideal as a furniture accessory in classic environments, antique silver collections, or to enhance decorative display cases.
