A Japanese-style painter born in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture. Studied under Ishi Masao.
Recipient of numerous awards including the Kyoto Shimbun Prize, the Kyoto Prefectural Governor's Award, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Governor's Award. Active primarily through solo exhibitions.
Specialises in flower-and-bird paintings.
