Urania Oel enamel sign, a replica of a 1910s motif depicting a chief, made in Germany, 60 cm high and 40 cm wide, in excellent condition with minimal signs of age, produced in a small, no-longer-available modern limited edition from a closed enamelling works.
Description from the seller
URANIA SALONOEL
It was a brand of the German-American Petroleum Society. Over time, the brands changed to DAPOL, DAPOLIN, STANDARD, and today ESSO.
This motif featuring the chief is one of the most sought-after and rare German enamel signs.
Few pieces of the original email sign from the 1910s are known among collectors' circles.
In December 2025, an original item will be offered at a German auction house, with a minimum bid of 10,000 euros. The estimated value is 20,000 euros!
This is a more modern version, produced in a limited edition and no longer available on the market. An affordable opportunity compared to the extremely expensive original.
It comes from a very small remaining stock of the enameling factory, which has now closed.
The workmanship is of a high quality that's rarely seen. Thick enamel, heavy iron.
The individual colors are thickly and raised enameled, partly forming a fascinating relief (see also photos).
In excellent condition aside from minor corner damages (see photos).
Shipped in sturdy, secure cardboard, registered with insurance.
