Antique hand-painted Spanish tile dating to the late 17th century, a border tile decorated with egg and leaf motifs, spiral waves and palmettes, measuring 13.8 × 13.8 cm with a depth of 1.6 cm, in reasonable to good condition with glaze chipping on the sides and a chipped rear edge.

Original hand-painted antique Spanish tile made at the end of the 17th century. This is a border tile decorated with egg and leaf motifs, spiral waves, and palmettes. This type of tile is commonly found in noble buildings and ecclesiastical interiors in both Portugal and Spain. They were made in various locations; Lisbon, Valencia, Barcelona, Seville, and Talavera. This tile was made in Catalonia. The tile is in reasonable to good condition. I have been trading antique tiles for almost 20 years. I sell medieval lead glazed floor tiles. Italian, Spanish and Portuguese tiles from the fourteenth to the eighteenth century. Dutch tiles from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, as well as tiles from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco period. I sell at special tile fairs in Germany and England, through Catawiki and eBay and through my website.
