Islamic Ottoman/Bedouin Style Silver-metal Ring with Lapis Lazuli Intaglio of an Insect (No Reserve Price)
An Islamic Ottoman/Bedouin style silver-metal ring. It features a raised hexagonal bezel with a lapis lazuli intaglio showing an insect, likely a bee. The intaglio decoration served as a stamp or a seal, illustrating a protective symbol or the heraldry of the owner. The raised bezel is richly decorated with a beautiful floral motif on all sides. The ring band is also decorated with hollow-formed shoulders and incised curvilinear patterns. Good solid condition, wearable. Signs of wear consistent with age and use. Minor chip to one side of the bezel's rim.
