AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Gerardus Johannes Delfgaauw (1882-1947)

Around the turn of the century, after studying at the The Hague Drawing Academy, Gerard Delfgaauw worked in a naturalistic-impressionistic style. He lived and worked in Rijswijk. He painted many landscapes and cityscapes (including those of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Dordrecht, and Delft). His works include a series of dynamic Rotterdam harbor views, including the De Nieuw Amsterdam and the Statendam moored at the Wilhelminakade. The works of this impressionist artist are included in the collections of various museums, including those in Rijswijk and Dordrecht. With captivating colors and a loose brushstroke, Delfgaauw invites viewers to enter his nostalgic landscapes.

Unique scene: The Leuvehaven and Sea Fish Market, seen from the Leuvebrug. In the background, the Saint Dominic Church (or Steigerse Church) and the Saint Lawrence Church.

Painting in good original condition, canvas size 50x70cm. The frame is intact and is included for free with the painting within the EU, outside the EU without due to fragility, weight, and size.

The work is carefully packaged and sent internationally by registered mail.
