Description from the seller

This extensive set of 44 antique glassware pieces, the 'Bohème' model in 'Diamond' size, is a production of Verreries Doyen in Havré, active in the heart of the 20th century. Elegant, uniform, and representative of the Hainaut glassmaking expertise, this collection includes several formats intended for a complete table service, offering a cohesive view of the 'Bohème' line, one of Doyen's flagship collections.

Each type of glass features an elegant silhouette resting on a slightly protruding circular foot, topped with a short, narrow stem supporting a rounded bowl, open like a petal. The 'Losanges' pattern unfolds in a perfectly regular ribbon of quadrangular paving stones arranged on the tip, forming a continuous frieze that captures light and creates a sharp, precise play of reflections.
The set consists of: 12 large water glasses, 12 white wine glasses, 5 Porto glasses, 4 liqueur glasses, and 11 spirits glasses, all executed according to the same design, with a remarkable harmony of proportions and quality of finishes.

The overall condition of this set is excellent, indicating very limited use. The glasses retain perfect transparency and a uniform polish. The only irregularity to note is a small chip on the rim of one of the high-proof glasses. Nevertheless, the set remains particularly fresh for its period, with no tarnishing or structural deterioration.

Les Verreries Doyen in Havré, founded in the 19th century and active until the mid-20th century, are among the Belgian manufacturers that successfully combined industrial production with high-quality craftsmanship. The 'Bohème' model reflects the period of maturity of the factory, when it fully mastered mechanical decorative cutting and the aesthetic standards of Belgian cut glass. This ensemble perfectly illustrates the sober and luminous style favored by Doyen and serves as a faithful witness to the tableware production of glassware during these decades.

The average sizes are (water glasses > strong alcohol glasses).
Height: 13 > 10.3 > 9.6 > 9.2 > 6.7 centimeters.
- Upper diameter: 8.8 > 7 > 6.3 > 6.4 > 4.7 centimeters.
Base diameter: 7.1 > 6.1 > 5.8 > 5.4 > 4.2 centimeters.
Total weight of the set: 3420 grams.

Each glass will be carefully individually wrapped, and the set will be shipped quickly and securely to arrive before the end-of-year holidays and to adorn the table. On-site pickup and group delivery are available. Photos are part of the description.
