Rare engraving by Jan de Visscher, depicting livestock grazing in a river landscape, from a drawing by Jan Van Goyen, dated 1653, at the Kupferstichkabinett, Staatliche Museen in Berlin.
It is part of the series of 12 river landscapes 'Regiunculæ Amoenissimæ elegantly delineated by Johannes van Goyen and engraved by Johann de Visscher.'
Example with very small margins, on laid paper, in good state of preservation, very small gaps repaired at the lower corners, and spread blackish spots (see photo).
At the bottom left, partially missing due to restoration at the corner '[I. van Goy]en inventor'; on the right, 'I. de Visscher fecit'; and missing because the number '8' of the series was restored.
Cows gathered on the muddy banks of a river, with a solitary figure carrying a bucket and a rope, and a church in the distance.
