Very Huge and beautiful Statue with Oil Lamp by Auguste Moreau Spelter, 20th century Signed in the base Aug Moreau, stamp FRANCE too The lamp is working excellent Diemnsion: Height: 1m5 ( 105cm) x 26cm , base 22.5cm In very good antique condition with very minor signs of age to the spelter but still has all of its absolute charm Auguste Moreau 1834-1917 was a French sculptor best known for his figurines. His allegorical Art Nouveau works often depicted women, children, cherubs, and historical figures adorned with floral motifs and ornaments, and were influential to other artists working at the time. Born in Dijon, France to a celebrated family of sculptors, he regularly exhibited his work at the Paris Salon from 1861 on. The artist died in 1917 in France. The photos complete the description. Auguste Moreau 1834-1917 was a French sculptor best known for his figurines.
