Description from the seller
“Boomerang 64” desk lamp
Published by Fase, Spain, circa 1964
Designed by Luis Pérez de la Oliva for the Spanish manufacturer Fase, this iconic desk lamp embodies the functional elegance of the 1960s. The "Boomerang 64" model, one of the first designs of the brand founded in Madrid by industrial engineer Pedro Martín in 1964, is distinguished by its fluid and aerodynamic silhouette, inspired by organic and modernist forms.
The curved lacquered metal arm evokes the trajectory of a boomerang, while the adjustable circular lampshade, mounted on a ball joint system, allows 360° rotation and precise adjustability for optimal directed lighting. The round base, equipped with an integrated switch, ensures perfect stability and full rotation, facilitating its use on a desk or work table.
Made from metallic grey lacquered steel with an opalescent white acrylic diffuser, this piece measures approximately 40 cm in height, 30 cm in width for the shade and 57 cm in maximum depth.
It is designed for two E27 bulbs, providing diffused and efficient light. Fase, which exported its lighting to more than thirty countries since the 1970s, has made its mark on the history of post-Franco Spanish design by introducing modernist and Bauhaus influences, combining sustainable materials and technical innovations such as the ball joint system.
This copy is in excellent superior condition, with a new cable and a replaced diffuser, avoiding the common degradation due to old incandescent bulbs which could cause overheating. The base does not bear the inscription ''fase industrias'' as these are early editions from the 1960s.
Fully functional, it retains its vintage authenticity while ensuring safe contemporary use. An icon of Spanish industrial design, often featured in private collections and modernist interiors.
Images are part of the description. Insured shipping and to a collection point if possible. Bulbs not included.
