P. Lepage - ‎Lois des Batimens, ou le nouveau Desgodets - 1808

Original edition of this work published by the jurist P. Lepage, in which he revised and updated the famous manual by Desgodets on the same subject, taking into account the new civil code.

(Dupin No. 1412). The 'Desgodets' was the major text of construction law in the 18th century. Published in 1748, it went through numerous editions. Its success was such that, after the promulgation of the Civil Code, the plan of the work was adopted again to write this 'new Desgodets,' which also enjoyed similar success, with many editions published until 1857.

Copy in antique binding, mottled havana calf. Smooth spine decorated with gold-tooled compartments, with a title piece in red morocco. Gilded roulette Greek border framing the covers.

Condition: tear at the ends of the hinges (about 4 cm) and at the heads, scratches on the boards, scuffs and a worn corner. Solid volume. Sporadic foxing. Fair condition.
