Gilded wood monstrance – Relic “Ex Spinea D.N.J.C.” – 18th/19th century
Carved and gilded wooden monstrance with rocaille decoration, housing a relic identified by a handwritten label.
Ex Spinea D.N.J.C. (from the Crown of Thorns of Our Lord Jesus Christ).
The relic is displayed under glass, on a light fabric background.
On the reverse side, purple silk ribbons and a red wax seal of ecclesiastical authority, still in place but partially worn.
Not an open set.
Condition consistent with age: wear to the gilding, small gaps, and signs of oxidation, but the structure remains stable.
