Near Eastern Alabaster Inlaid Camel Figurine Circa 1st millennium BC This charming alabaster camel figurine is carved in the round as a recumbent dromedary with the forelegs folded beneath the body and a high single hump rising from the back. The elongated neck projects slightly forward to a small head with drilled eyes, the compact body resting on an integral flat base. Both flanks and the chest are ornamented with small circular inlays set into drilled sockets. Dimensions: 8cm x 5cm x 2g Provenance: Private European Collection; formerly acquired from old UK and European collection formed since the 1970s.
