Magnificent in-8 volume, dressed in a red and gold cardboard binding signed by Engel, one of the most sought-after from Guérin's production: large central gilded medallion, arabesques and palmettes, decorated spine, gilded edges. A very fresh copy, with intact colors, sparkling gilding, and neat headbands.

Illustrated with numerous in-text and out-of-text engravings by Fath and Fellmann. Clean paper, some minor foxing without severity. Complete work, carefully printed during the great period of illustrated cardboard bindings for youth.
