Over the years, Jacopo Mattia Alegiani has exhibited in public and private venues, including the Venice Biennale, the Museo dei Fori Imperiali in Rome, and prestigious art fairs such as Art Basel Miami and others. Some of his works are permanently exhibited in galleries and museums.
In the 1980s, he was one of the most active exponents of graffiti. Under the pseudonym "The JA," Jacopo Mattia Alegiani, a painter and video artist, has a long history of research and experimentation, ranging from the graffiti of the 1980s to large-scale canvases, to the painting that today focuses on reproducing the digital effect of screens in general. In the late 1990s, he used unusual materials, including plastic grids, which aided him in the representation of pixels and the intrinsic symbolism of interconnections, allowing him to conceptually bridge the physical and digital worlds. This series of artistic research aims to study and experiment with the phenomena of visual perception and movement.
