Historic Note
Boasting a Zagato spider body, this car is a 6C 1750 Gran Sport with a supercharger, the sportiest version of the Milanese six-cylinder, and was sold new to Giovanni Battista Aldo Barabini of Genoa in 1931. After several changes of ownership, the car returned to Alfa Romeo, only to be resold in 1933 to Dino Carabba, who entered it in the 1934 Varese-Campo dei Fiori race, finishing fourth in its class and eleventh overall.
During those years, the 6C likely competed in other minor races, changing hands three more times, before being sold to Giuseppe Aprile of Savona in August 1938. Just under a year later, the car was purchased by Brunello Feltri of Altare, in the province of Savona. In the meantime, Aprile had completely rebuilt the car's body, giving it a new, more modern and elegant look. The exquisite design betrays the work of the most famous designer of the time: Mario Revelli de Beaumont, creator of this and many other beautiful bodies. Currently in the famous and legendary Lopresto collection.
