Canosa oenochoe with painted decoration from Magna Graecia, ancient Greek, dating to the late 4th/early 3rd century BCE, beige ceramic with ochre, red and green palmette and floral motifs, engobe white glaze, pink interior of the spout, dimensions H 22.2 cm × W 10.7 cm, in excellent condition with no restoration.

An elegant oinochoe with a trefoil spout, made of beige ceramic and decorated with ochre, red, and green floral motifs and palmettes. The inside of the spout is painted pink.
The decoration is painted on a white slip.
The added pigment is one of the characteristics of Canosa pottery and sculpture.
Canosa ceramics are rare!
Magna Graecia, Southern Italy, Canosa, late 4th / early 3rd century BC.
Dimensions: H 22.2 cm - width 10.7 cm
Piece in excellent condition - no restoration - partial deterioration of the paint
Provenance: France, V.S.L. gallery.
