Description from the seller
Antique Chinese ceramic vessel from the Neolithic period.
Chamois-colored ceramic pot with a wide collar featuring two vertical handles.
The vessel is decorated with a complex geometric pattern shaded in black, consisting of broad circles with hatching motifs, topped by a frieze of hatchings. The inside of the lip is adorned with a garland.
The container is defined by a flat base, a round body with an inclined shoulder, a stout neck with a flared rim, and a pair of strap handles applied with a horizontal black line.
This piece comes from the very first pottery tradition found at various archaeological sites along the Yellow River basin, extending from the current Gansu Province in northwestern China to Henan Province in central China.
North of China, Yangshao region, Majiayao culture (3300 / 2050 BC).
Perfect condition - no restoration
Dimensions: height 12.4 cm - width 12.3 cm
