Peru-origin black Leopard Skin Jasper skull sculpture (Jaspis) weighing 398 g and measuring about 8.8 × 6.5 cm.
Description from the seller
549 g heavy skull made from black leopard skin jasper, approximately 8.80 x 6.60 x 6.00 cm in size.
Black leopard skin jasper skull from Peru – wild power of the Andes
Discover a unique piece of art: this hand-carved skull made of black Leopard Skin Jasper originates from the mineral-rich Andes of Peru – a country that was once the spiritual center of Inca culture. The Incas honored their ancestral spirits with stone symbols of wisdom and used sacred sites in the mountains to communicate with the spiritual world.
Like Roman generals, Peruvian shamans also wore leopard skins as headgear and cloaks to resonate with the power and speed of the leopard.
The stone itself displays vibrant, organic patterns in black and bluish tones – reminiscent of the fur of a mythical black leopard, regarded in Andean mythology as a spirit animal and guardian between worlds. Jasper was considered a protective stone by ancient peoples and was used in ritual transitions, for grounding, and spiritual cleansing.
Very decorative object - exquisite piece of fine modern art
Mineralogical structure of the skull: spotted black jasper — with 'living eyes.'
