AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Description
10x7x8 cm
The small bust is characteristic of the bronze production attributable to the Venetian foundry of the sculptor Niccolò Roccatagliata, originally from Genoa and a pupil of Agostino Groppo who moved to Venice at the end of the 16th century where he started a successful production of bronzes in collaboration with Groppo's son Cesare, with the latter also being assisted by his son Sebastiano.
Our bronze statuette belongs to the artist's second production, probably following the two bronze figures depicting Saint George and Saint Stephen commissioned by the Benedictine monks of the church of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice in 1594.

Guarantees careful packaging and shipping.
