Juan García Ripollés, Mujer en el paisaje, gouache original edition from 2015, sold with a white wooden frame.
Description from the seller
The work is a dreamlike scene, where the character seems suspended between the sea and the land, between wakefulness and sleep. It is a celebration of color, peace, and imagination, a song to the vital simplicity that Ripollés conveys like few contemporary artists.
In this composition, a human figure dominates the space with a relaxed gesture. The flat and vibrant colors divide the background into three diagonal bands of green, yellow, and blue, evoking land, sun, and sea, reinforcing the Mediterranean character of the work.
The character, dressed in burgundy tones, seems to converse with the surrounding elements: a white mottled dog and a pair of butterflies. The facial features are purely 'Ripollian': a synthesis between childhood innocence and plastic sophistication.
Gouache, with its matte texture and irregular impasto, brings a sense of spontaneity and sincerity that feels almost immediate, as if the artist had captured an emotion in a single stroke.
It is sent with a white wooden frame (155 x 115 cm) and an authenticity certificate.
