Description from the seller

CONCORD from the Thersienthal manufactory

6 water glasses

A classically elegant tableware set from the 1950s. The series features a row of cut surfaces on the stem and the shape of the lower part, making the glass particularly comfortable to hold. This series here with 'Mintonborte,' the classic gold edge.

Dimensions: height 10.7 cm, base diameter 5.2 cm, top diameter 7 cm
Gold band width: 1.2 cm without a thin lower band.

We offer you here fine lead crystal glasses from the Theresienthal manufactory.
The glasses are mouth-blown.

The sound when clinking glasses is long-lasting and beautiful.
Please see the photos.

The gold etching edge is a combination of etching and gilding:

Etching: First, a pattern is applied to the glass surface, often using acids (such as hydrofluoric acid), to selectively matte or slightly deepen the surface. This creates the 'edge' or the relief-like pattern.
Gold plating: Subsequently, often in several steps, real gold, typically in the form of fine powder or liquid (24 karat), is applied to these etched or pre-treated areas and baked in.

The glasses from the Bavarian manufactory Theresienthal are real works of art made from noble crystal glass.

In the heart of the Bavarian Forest, near the highest peak of the forest mountains and a few kilometers from the Czech border, lies Theresienthal. Surrounded by forests and small villages, the glassworks is situated in a picturesque river valley near the glass city of Zwiesel. Since 1836, the year it was founded by King Ludwig I, Theresienthal has been producing glass of the highest quality in craftsmanship and design. In the former Royal Bavarian Privileged Glass Factory, named after the Bavarian Queen Therese, every piece of glass is still made entirely by hand. The ambition to produce for the court required not only the best glassmakers but also that the design of the valuable glasses be created by artists.

Since 1836, glassmakers, grinders, engravers, painters, and craftsmen from various trades within the glass industry have been working at Theresienthal. They possess extensive knowledge and experience necessary for the production of the valuable glasses. Many have been working there for decades, and quite a few are in their fourth or fifth generation at Theresienthal. The manufactory still produces the wonderful glasses exclusively by hand. Starting with the turning of the wooden models, through the blowing of the glass, the hand-modeling of the stem, attaching the glass appliqués, shaping the rim, to creating engravings, cuts, paintings, or gilding: all steps are carried out by specially trained staff at Theresienthal.

The glasses are carefully packed and sent by registered mail.
